Currently, I have openings for individual and group therapy on Saturdays. Weekday Skype sessions are also available (typically not covered by insurance). Appointments generally last 50 minutes, and can be scheduled on a weekly, biweekly, or flexible basis. To cancel or reschedule an appointment, please call or email me at least 24 hours in advance.
Your First Appointment
The first appointment is an opportunity for us to meet and get to know each other. If possible, please print and fill out as much of the introductory client packet (below) as you can ahead of time. Please also complete releases of information for anyone with whom you'd like me to communicate. We will review this paperwork at the beginning of your appointment. I will then have additional questions about your, your history, your current difficulties and reasons for seeking therapy. You will also have the opportunity to ask me any questions you may have.
The first 2 - 3 sessions are focused on developing a clearer picture of the problem, and how therapy can help. During this time, you will also have a chance to determine whether you feel comfortable with me. If we do not seem to be a good fit (if you are not comfortable, or would benefit more from someone with a different area of expertise), I can provide referrals to another therapist. Hopefully, we will instead decide to work together, and begin the therapy process!
